A scenic mountain flight is the easiest way to see Mount Everest and the high Himalaya. The flight takes off from Kathmandu early in the morning and follows the mountain range east towards Everest before turning back, giving everyone on board a view of the peaks.
It is a relaxed, affordable way to see the mountains in about an hour, with no landing, trekking or special fitness needed.

How a mountain flight works
- Check in at Kathmandu airport early in the morning
- Fly east along the Himalaya towards Mount Everest
- The crew points out the peaks as you pass them
- Return to Kathmandu, usually around an hour later
Mountain flight or helicopter tour?
A mountain flight is quicker and more affordable and shows you the whole range from a distance. A helicopter tour flies much closer to Everest and lands in the mountains. Choose the flight for the view, the helicopter for the experience.
